On March 5, the Bishop of Belgium and the Netherlands of the Patriarchate of Georgia, Dositheos, convened the Episcopal Council, where issues that concern the whole world and the Orthodox Church today were discussed.
In the announcement issued by the Holy Diocese of Belgium and the Netherlands, solidarity was expressed to every believer in Ukraine, but especially to the Autocephalous Church of Ukraine, whose Primate is the Metropolitan Epiphaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine.
The members of the Episcopal Council unanimously agreed that the time has come for the Georgian Patriarchate to recognize the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Ukraine.
“We express our solidarity to every believer in Ukraine, regardless of which Church they belong to, but especially to the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine.Georgia and its Church expressed since the beginning great support for our brotherly Ukrainian nation, but from an ecclesiological point of view, it would be even more important to start thinking about recognizing the Autocephaly of the Church of Ukraine in question. “
