Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew proposed changes to the current hierarchy of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Argentina and the United States. The Ecumenical Patriarch proposed that Metropolitan Tarasios of Buenos Aires should be elected Metropolitan of Rodopolis and Bishop of Iosif should become the new Metropolitan of Buenos Aires.
The former Metropolitan of Buenos Aires, Tarasios, was elected Metropolitan of Rodopolis after the death of Metropolitan Ieronymos and will take charge of an Orthodox institution in the United States.
