The Holy Services for the beginning of the Great Lent were performed at the Holy Temple of Saint Fotini in Smyrna, observing the restrictive measures and hygienic protocols for the protection against the spread of Covid-19.
On the morning of Saturday, March 13, 2021, Metropolitan Bartholomew of Smyrna performed the Divine Liturgy, and on the afternoon of the same day, the Great Vespers, with the participation of believers.
On Sunday, March 14, 2021, the Holy Services of the Orthros, the Divine Liturgy, and the First Vespers, as well as the Holy Services of the Shrove Monday in the morning, and the service of the Great Compline in the afternoon were performed.
The Metropolitan of Smyrna performed the Holy Services along with Archimandrite Polycarpos Theofanis, a clergyman of the First Metropolis of Nafpaktos and Agios Vlasios.
