Archbishop Elpidophoros of America plans to visit the Bahamas, which have been hit by the deadly Hurricane Dorian.
The Archbishop will be accompanied by the members of the International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC).
The Archbishop has already given instructions to his close associates for the visit as the Archbishop wants to travel to the Bahamas and to give courage to the members of the community, and to those affected by the hurricane, by providing humanitarian aid.
Archbishop Elpidophoros of America appointed Archimandrite Athinagoras Ziliaskopoulos as ecclesiarch of the temple in the Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. The archmandrite will be responsible for the services and the proper function of the temple.
It is recalled that this is the first appointment to the HCHC, which the Archbishop announced his intention to reorganize.
Archimandrite Athinagoras Ziliaskopoulos grew up in Germany and Greece. He studied German philology and Orthodox theology in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
He was awarded an MA from the Department of German Studies and Pedagogy of the Goethe University Frankfurt and from the Department of Pastoral and Social Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
