The Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York held their Vasilopita on Thursday, February 1, 2023 at the Stathakion Cultural Center in Astoria.
Archbishop Elpidophoros of America attended and cut the Vasilopita for the members. Present at the meeting were Consul General of Greece Konstantinou Konstantinou, Consul General of Cyprus Michalis Firillas, Chancellor of the Archdiocese V. Rev. Nektarios Papazafiropoulos, Chairman of the Federation Cleanthis Meimaroglou, and Chairman of the Greek Independence Day Philip Christopher. During the meeting Archbishop Elpidophoros presented a plaque to Petros Vlitas who is instrumental in bringing the Evzones to the US for the parade.
