Archbishop Elpidophoros of America made a post on Twitter about Human Rights Day, which is celebrated today, on the 10th of December.
It is recalled that Human Rights Day is celebrated every year on the 10th of December, commemorating the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the UN General Assembly on the 10th of December 1948. The vision was a world with rights and freedoms without discrimination.
Archbishop Elpidophoros of America called on the faithful on Twitter to be mindful that every human being is made in the image of God and that he or she is worthy of love and respect. He also urged them to speak for those who cannot, to judge righteously, and defend the rights of the poor and needy.
On #HumanRightsDay let us be mindful that every human being is made in the image of God, and is worthy of love and respect. Let us speak for those who cannot, for the rights of the destitute, to judge righteously, and defend the rights of the poor and needy (Prov 31:8-9). pic.twitter.com/BkR7JFATB1
