“This Christmas, with so much loneliness, despair, loss of our loved ones, but also of our work, let us open our hearts to the love of God. Despite the questions and doubts raised by the test of our faith all this time, the Lord does not lose his trust in us and appears before the eyes of our souls in his humble attire, because He knows that we will recognize Him as the Leader of Peace and King of Kings.
This is the mystery of God’s love, that never forsakes us and meets us constantly wherever we are”, said, among other things, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America in his message for the celebration of Christmas.

“My dear Christians,
In these dark winter nights, the brightest star that has ever illuminated the earth makes its appearance. It radiates in our hearts to illuminate the way to the city of David and to the humble manger of the Incarnation of Jesus Christ.
The Child of Bethlehem invites us to him to feel the whole, but also vulnerable human nature he received for our sake. He descended from the heavens, incarnated in the womb of a surprised Virgin daughter, and trusted himself to an old man full of questions, Joseph.
This Christmas, with so much loneliness, despair, loss of our loved ones, but also of our work, let us open our hearts to the love of God. Despite the questions and doubts raised by the test of our faith all this time, the Lord does not lose his trust in us and appears before the eyes of our souls in his humble attire, because He knows that we will recognize Him as the Leader of Peace and King of Kings. This is the mystery of God’s love, that never forsakes us and meets us constantly wherever we are.
My dear friends, the Christmas holidays give me the opportunity to mentally embrace all of you with the love of the Child of Bethlehem.
May His presence illuminate your hearts, as the star illuminated the sky (of Bethlehem) that dark night and lead you to a blessed and safe New Year.
Jesus is born!
Glorify Him!
Merry Christmas!”
