Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana, Durres, and All Albania expressed his heartfelt condolences in a letter addressed to Patriarch Kirill of Moscow following the tragic massacre at a concert hall in Moscow. This horrific incident, acknowledged as the deadliest attack in two decades, was attributed to the jihadist organization Islamic State.
In his message, Archbishop Anastasios conveyed profound sympathy to Patriarch Kirill and the Russian people, sharing in their grief and offering prayers for comfort and strength during this difficult period.
In detail, Archbishop Anastasios stated in his condolence letter to Patriarch Kirill:
“With profound sorrow, the clergy and the laity of the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania join in the profound grief following the heinous terrorist attack that resulted in the loss of dozens of lives and left many injured, including children. We fervently pray for God to grant eternal rest to the souls of the departed, swift healing to the injured, and solace to their grieving families. We do not cease praying for the final victory of peace ‘patient in affliction, faithful in prayer…’. (Romans 12:12).
With sincere love in Christ our Savior.”
