A twenty-five-member group of students and teachers from the 2nd General Lyceum of Pylaia, Thessaloniki, visited the Theological School of Halki on Saturday, March 23, accompanied by the Head of Educational Programs of the Patriarchal Institute for Patristic Studies, Ioanna Kliari.
The students, participants in the educational program “Palaeography: The Journey of Writing” initiated by the Patriarchal Foundation, were inspired by the maps of the Theological School of Halki presented in Thessaloniki (TIF, September 2023). Following their visit to the school’s church, they were warmly received by Abbot Bishop Kassianos of Aravissos at the Great Synodikon. Bishop Kassianos welcomed them and offered paternal advice for their studies and lives in general, while also highlighting the significant and promising educational initiatives undertaken by the Patriarchal Foundation in recent years.
The students presented the Abbot with a thoughtful gift related to their studies: a handcrafted map of Halki, specifically highlighting the Theological School situated on the Hill of Hope.
Subsequently, the group was led to the chapel of the Holy Trinity and the School’s extensive Library. Here, they learned about the institution’s history and had the opportunity to examine closely some of the antique maps preserved within the library’s collection.
