Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece held a meeting today with the newly elected Regional Governor of Attica Giorgos Patoulis in the seat of the Archdiocese. The two men referred to the need of cooperation between the Archdiocese of Athens and the Attica Region.
The Protosyncellus of the Archdiocese, Bishop Symeon of Thespies, welcomed the regional governor.
Following the meeting Giorgos Patoulis said, “Today we have the honor of meeting the Archbishop so that we can discuss the possibilities of cooperation between the Attica Region and the Archdiocese. After giving us his blessing, we want to say that we will do our best in the period ahead to soothe the wounds of society in cooperation with our Church and contribution to its effort. I think the future is bright and we are ready, with the blessing of the Archdiocese, to move forward.”
On his part, Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece stressed, “I am very pleased today because I had the opportunity not only to congratulate our regional governor in person, but also to bring up many subjects of our ministry and our service. Our cooperation will be a sincere and continuous effort to help our people.”
The Archbishop then met Austrian Ambassador Andrea Ikić-Böhm.
