Archbishop Elpidophoros of America gave a very special Christmas interview to the Children of St Basil Academy. He was asked many questions that created a beautiful Christmas atmosphere charged with joy and emotion. The aim of the game was to learn more about the life of the Archbishop of America.
On the first round, he was asked about his favourite season, colour, holiday etc.
On the second round, he also replied to questions regarding his work and bad criticism. Firstly, he said that he was responsible for 600 parishes all over the USA and for the Metropolises, where there were metropolitans, bishops, priests. “People don’t know you and don’t trust your initiatives. However, sometimes you want to make some changes and to bring some new ideas. They doubt about you since they don’t know how sincere you are or how successful you are. But as soon as they get to know you better they trust your good intentions,” he said.
Secondly, when he was asked what advice he would give to someone who wants to be successful he replied, “There is no shortcut. The real success happens through hard work and, therefore, this is the success you enjoy the most.”
On the third round, he spoke of his personal life, that is where he was born, where he grew up, and how he liked celebrating Christmas. “I have health, friends, family, and the Church, in which I have found the eternal life I was looking for,” he said.
