The Art Gallery of the Archbishop Makarios III Foundation on the occasion of the International Museum Day launches the photographic exhibition “Colours of Orthodoxy: Cyprus-Poland”. The opening of the exhibition will take place on May 17, 2019 at 19:00. The exhibition is under the auspices of Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus and Archbishop Savva of Poland.
The photographic exhibition in Cyprus will be hosted at the Art Gallery of the Archbishop Makarios III Foundation from May 17 to June 12, 2019.
The 90 pictures of the exhibition depict the richness and multicolourism of Orthodoxy in the Polish territory, as well as in Cyprus, both in the Republic of Cyprus and in the Turkish-occupied northern part of the island. The creators of the Polish section of the exhibition are volunteers, young photographers who have founded orthphoto.net in order to promote the Orthodox faith and culture around the world. The creators of the Cypriot section are Cypriot photographers who participated in a competition organized last summer by the Church of Cyprus, orthphoto.net, the Cyprus Photographic Society and the Publications Office of the Orthodox Church of Poland. The aim of the contest was to highlight the diversity and beauty of Orthodoxy in Cyprus. The photographic exhibition “Colours of Orthodoxy: Cyprus-Poland” was also presented with great success in Poland.
