Georgian Orthodox Church urged the churches to adhere to the COVID-19 pandemic-related regulations and use plastic cups during the blessing rituals, as reported by 1tv.ge.
“Due to the pandemic, all churches across Georgia are blessed to ensure regular disinfection of floors, social distancing, facemask-wear rule observation, and use of plastic cups during three weeks starting August 14,” reads the order signed by Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II.
