May these days dedicated to the Virgin Mary be those days so that the special reverence for the Virgin Mary comes in our hearts, and that we too discover the Virgin Mary, like the great saints of the Church. “My Virgin, illuminate my darkness,” exclaimed Saint Gregory Palamas. We will be happy if we discover this secret.
If you were tired until today, as you put some effort one way or another primarily for your salvation but also for other issues, and as if the road did not open, as if what you were asking for did not come, now you should turn to Virgin Mary.
The Virgin Mary gave birth to God. He who was born of the Father above all ages. As soon as Archangel Gabriel said: “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you,” immediately “the Word – the Son of God – became flesh.”
“If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit.” We see this in the Virgin Mary. She bore fruit. She conceived and gave birth, therefore, bore fruit to the Lord Himself.
And we are called, as the Fathers of the Church emphasize, to remain in Christ in such a way, and to have Christ remain in us in such a way that the very fruit we bear will be Christ Himself.
Saint Makarios and other saints of the Church emphasize this. Saint Paul says: “My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you.”
In the same way that Christ took form in the womb of the Virgin Mary so that He may be spiritually educated in every human being, and, according to what Saint Paul says that Jesus Christ should dwell into us.
