Patriarch Profirije of Serbia received Dr. Simo Avramovic, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Holy See, at the Patriarchal court in Belgrade, on April 2, 2021.
In an announcement of the Serbian Orthodox Church, in a friendly and cordial conversation, Patriarch Porfirije and Ambassador Avramovic agreed that fostering cooperation with the Holy See and Pope Francis, whose relationship with the Serbian Orthodox Church is characterized by a spirit of respect and cooperation, is of special importance.
In the same announcement, it is referred that Patriarch Porfirije wished Ambassador Avramovic much success in an important diplomatic mission in the Vatican, emphasizing his personal gratitude that the Holy See did not recognize self-proclaimed Kosovo.
The Serbian Patriarch used the opportunity to express his gratitude to Avramovic for the professional help that he, as one of the most prominent Serbian lawyers, has provided to his Church in recent decades.
