Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow was ready to cut off ties with the European Union if the latter affected the country with adverse economic sanctions, according to an interview posted today on the ministry’s website.
Relations between Russia and the West have come under renewed pressure over the arrest and imprisonment of Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny, which has fueled debates on any further sanctions.
