Bishop Maximos of Melitini officiated the Divine Liturgy for Zacchaeus Sunday at the Holy Trinity Church in Toulon.
Referring to Gospel account of Zacchaeus, the Bishop talked about repentance and spiritual conversion while emphasizing the people’s reaction when Jesus Christ chose Zacchaeus the chief tax collector, who was considered corrupt, to visit his house. He referred to the attitude kept by the spiritually “cleansed” and ostensibly pious towards those who are despised as sinners.
