Following the decisions of the Oslo City Council regarding the COVID-19 restrictive measures, the Greek Orthodox Community of Norway announced that the faithful will be allowed to attend the services at the Holy Metropolitan Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin in Oslo with a maximum number of attendees of 20 people from December 15, 2020, to January 7, 2021.
Specifically, the measures are the following:
- For the Christmas period, a sufficient number of services will be performed to serve the parishioners. On Christmas Day, parishioners who live far from Oslo or who do not go to the church frequently will be given priority.
- Upon entering the church, a distance of one meter between the faithful must be observed.
- According to the instructions of the State, each faithful who enters the church is obliged to write one’s details, as before, on the paper at the entrance.
- There will be antiseptic/disinfectant at the entrance of the church.
- The antidoron, artos, kollyva, etc., will be distributed at the exit of the church.
- The faithful who belong to groups at risk, especially the sick and the elderly, are kindly requested to remain in their homes.
The Holy Metropolitan Church will remain open after the Divine Liturgy for two hours and on weekdays as usual.
