Saint Nektarios Parish in Perth recently experienced the conversion of Panagiotis (Babith) and Anna (Abbi), former Pentecostals, to the Orthodox faith as reported by vema.com.au. They were catechized by Father Ioannis Athanasios for a long time and prepared to be baptized Christians.
Bishop Elpidios of Kyanes, representing Archbishop Makarios of Australia, performed the baptism and welcomed the couple to the church. The mystery of baptism was carefully explained by the Bishop for the spiritual benefit of all those present.
At the end of the mystery, all the attendants had the opportunity to taste exceptional Indian delicacies prepared by the newly enlightened couple, wanting to honor the cuisine of their homeland.
Panagiotis and Anna have two young children, who were recently baptized and given the names Vasileios and Ioanna.
The day after his baptism, the couple got married at the Church of Saint Nektarios. After the mystery, everyone enjoyed a Greek buffet at the best woman’s home.
Bishop Elpidios wholeheartedly wished them God’s blessing in their continuing family’s journey to the Orthodox Faith.
