Patriarch Kirill of Moscow once again commended Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Addressing a conference titled “Partnership of the State and Society in the Task of Harmoniously Educating Responsible Individuals Based on Traditional Russian Spiritual and Moral Values,” the Patriarch emphasized Putin’s role in making Russia a stronghold of spiritual values.
This is not the first time that the head of the Russian Orthodox Church has aligned himself with the decisions of the Russian president. Furthermore, his steadfast support for the Kremlin’s rhetoric throughout the more than two years of the conflict in Ukraine is noteworthy.
Addressing the conference participants, Patriarch Kirill emphasized the profound global crises stemming from attempts to undermine fundamental moral principles and the pervasive propagation of malice and sin, which negatively impact individuals on a spiritual and moral level.
He highlighted the efforts of many countries, including Russia, to withstand unprecedented pressure and preserve their foundations, traditions, and cultural identity. He stressed that, in such challenging circumstances, solidarity and unity play a crucial role.
The Patriarch noted the fruitful cooperation that has developed in recent years between the Church, state institutions, and public organizations to address critical issues in family policy, culture, education, and the upbringing of younger generations. He described this cooperation as a unique global experience.
Patriarch Kirill praised the leadership of President Vladimir Putin and various authorities for positioning Russia as a robust bastion of traditional spiritual and moral values, serving as a beacon of hope for many nations.
He expressed hope that the conference’s deliberations would lead to concrete decisions and contribute significantly to the realization of national aspirations in these vital aspects of public life.
