Ukraine is fighting for its freedom, said President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking remotely at the extraordinary plenary session of the European Parliament in Brussels.
“No one will break us, we are tough, we are Ukrainians,” he said, adding that “we are fighting for our rights, our freedom, now for our survival.”
Zelensky noted: “We are fighting to be equal members of Europe
We have proved our strength. Prove that you are with us, that you will not abandon us, that you are truly European.”
At the same time, he said that in the morning two cruise missiles hit Kharkov and stressed that “the citizens of Ukraine are defending freedom.” At the same time, he said that he does not read from papers, that the papers are over, “we are facing real-life”.
It should be noted that the members of the EP applauded for a long time both the President of Ukraine and the representatives of the country who are in the parliament, while even the interpreter who translated into English Volodymyr Zelensky was obviously overwhelmed.
