Work in virtue and not be attached to the enjoyment and the rest that passion offers. Love poor clothes and not the ones that look good. Be more interested in the beauty of the soul and not to that of the body.
Can anyone who is a talker ever get a clear mind? Can anyone ever have humble thoughts when he wants to enjoy human glory? When subjugated to the physical sensations, it is like eating the food of the beasts, while when one defeats them, it is like eating the food of the angels.
