Visit of the Metropolitan of Veroia to Bulgaria

On the 16th, 17th and 18th of September, Metropolitan Panteleimon of Veroia, Naoussa and Campania, responding to the invitation of Metropolitan Gregory of Vratsa (Church of Bulgaria), visited the Holy Metropolis of Vratsa.

The visit took place on the occasion of the festive events in memory of St. Sophronius of Vratsa, in combination with the transfer of the relic skull of Saint Clement from the Monastery of Timios Prodromos of the Skete of Veroia.

The celebrations were attended by Patriarch Neophyte of Bulgaria. On Monday afternoon, September 16, a reception was held to welcome the relic skull of Saint Clement to the Church of the Ascension of our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, where the memory of St. Sophronius, is being honoured.

On September 17, the Vespers for St. Sophronius was celebrated, officiated be Metropolitan Gregory of Vratsa.

On Wednesday, September 18, a joint archieratic concelebration was held in the presence of Patriarch Neophyte of Bulgaria. After the Divine Liturgy, the Patriarch presided at the Paraklesis of Saint Sophronius.

Metropolitan Panteleimon of Veroia was accompanied by the Protosyncellus of the Metropolis, Archimandrite Athenagoras Byrdas, the Abbot of the Monastery of Timios Prodromos of the Skete of Veroia, Archimandrite Porphyrios Batsaras and clergy.
