A visit to the headquarters of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia in Sydney took place on Wednesday, February 21, by the Ambassador of Israel to the country, Mr. Amir Maimon.
Mr. Maimon was warmly received by Archbishop Makarios of Australia. During their meeting, a fruitful discussion on matters of mutual interest took place.
Among other topics, the Ambassador of Israel briefed the Archbishop of Australia on developments in the Middle East, with the Archbishop reiterating his call for an end to the state of war and the prevalence of peace. Both warmly acknowledged the beneficial presence of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem and its contribution to peace efforts in the broader region.
Additionally, Archbishop Makarios informed Mr. Maimon about the upcoming Apostolic Visit of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to Australia, marking the culmination of the centennial celebrations of the local Church.
