On Tuesday, April 20, the Archepisocpal Vicar of Canberra and Tasmania, Archimandrite Prochoros Anastasiadis, along with the priest in charge of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Canberra, Fr. Petros Kipouros, paid a visit to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra, where he had a private meeting with Archbishop Christopher Prowse.
Fr. Prochoros presented to the Roman Catholic Archbishop the initiatives of the Greek Orthodox Church in Australia and stressed the importance of cooperation in a spirit of love, offered him an icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary to protect him and his church.
Archbishop Christopher Prowse thanked Fr. Prochoros for the visit and the gift, and presented him with a book by Pope Francis, with his personal message “Let’s start together”.
Both stressed the possibilities of undertaking joint initiatives and synergies, while afterwards the Roman Catholic Archbishop guided Fr. Prochoros to the premises of the Archdiocese, describing its activities.
At the end of the meeting, Fr. Prochoros conveyed the love of Archbishop Makarios of Australia, with Archbishop Christopher Prowse commending His Excellency for the great work he has done.
