The Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Patriarchate of Moscow will not change its name.
According to Romfea.gr, the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal decided on Monday, July 22, 2019, that the name of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church would not change.
The previous House of Ukraine had passed a law under which the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate must be renamed as Russian Orthodox Church.
It is recalled that on March 23, 2019, the District Administrative Court of Kiev opens proceedings, at the request of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, to annul the decision of the Ministry of Culture under which the Ukrainian Church must indicate in its name the affiliation with the Patriarchate of Moscow.
On April 22, 2019, the court decided to suspend the name change process of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The Ministry of Culture decided to lodge an appeal this ruling, which was dismissed on Monday.
