The Brilliant Resurrection of Christ was celebrated yesterday by the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in Kyiv.
On the evening of the Resurrection, Metropolitan Epiphaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine performed the service at St. Michael’s Cathedral, while early Sunday morning he performed the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom.
Metropolitan Klimis of Simferopol and Crimea, Archbishop Agapit of Vishorod, Bishop of Luhansk and Starobilsk and invited clergy concelebrated the Divine Liturgy with the head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
After reading the Gospel, which is traditionally read in various languages this day, Metropolitan Epiphaniy sent his Easter message to the faithful of Ukraine.
Also, during the service, prayers were said for the soldiers defending Ukraine, for the government and the people, and for the repose of the souls of the defenders of Ukraine.
