The mayor of Paphos Fedonas Fedonos agreed, on certain conditions, with the erection of a church in the public garden in the center of Paphos.
Fedonas Fedonos was positive in the possibility of erecting a church in the public garden, provided the building is in line with the rest of the neoclassical buildings of the historical center.
He added that the issue returned to the municipal council at the request of the Metropolitan of Paphos. He argued that the request of the Metropolis can and must be considered, always in the interest of the city.
The issue of the new cathedral will be discussed at the next plenary meeting of the municipal council of Paphos and after the necessary information for study have been given to the new town councilors.
