On Sunday, December 18, the new Ambassador of Greece to France, Dimitrios Zevelakis, attended the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of St. Stephen in Paris.
The Metropolitan addressed the Ambassador and welcomed him to France. In his reply, Zevelakis praised the work of the Holy Metropolis of France and referred to the ties between the two countries and the relations between them that extend over time. His presence, apart from a special honor and great joy, recalled the necessity of the presence of institutional Greece, which he represents. The need – for the presence of institutional Greece outside the borders – is self-evidently necessary.
It stimulates the work of the community here and keeps the channel with the mother country open, sometimes even consoles, since it becomes clear that the look of the homeland has not left the anxieties and care of the communities abroad.
