The Holy Metropolis of Stagoi and Meteora, bearing in mind the decision of the Ministry of Culture and Sports to suspend the operation of archaeological sites and museums, in the context of measures against the spread the covid-19 coronavirus, announces that the Holy Monasteries and their museums will not accept visitors until a newer announcement.
It is reminded that Mount Athos has already closed its gates to pilgrims since March 19 in accordance with a joint decision by the ministries of education and health.
Deputy Civil Governor Aristos Kasmiroglou delivered the document to the Holy Community, while earlier the Holy Community, the highest governing body of Mount Athos, accepted the relevant government decision at its meeting.
