At midnight on February 24, 2023, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew returned from Scotland, where he went for a few days of rest and reflection, and today, Friday, February 24, he departed for Imbros, accompanied by Deacon Varnavas, for the forty-day memorial service of his late sister Zacharo Anastasiades.
The Patriarch’s entourage in Scotland were Patriarchal Deacon Ieronymos Sotirelis, Monk Ezekiel Xenophontinos, and Georgios Papaliaris, President of the Association for the Support of Greek Community Foundations.
