On the morning of June 21, 2019, Metropolitan Daniel of Axum welcomed at the Holy Temple of St. Frumentius in Addis Ababa, the Ethiopian Catholic cardinal, Archeparch Berhaneyesus Demerew Souraphiel.
The Metropolitan conveyed the greetings of Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa.
Soon thereafter, they had a constructive discussion about the presence and action of Christianity in Ethiopia, as well as the cooperation between Christians in the context of Church’s dialogue.
The Cardinal expressed his respect for the Alexandrian Primate, stressing that he admires the great missionary, spiritual and humanitarian work he carries out with care and by providing his guidance throughout Africa. He also expressed his joy for the arrival of Metropolitan Daniel in Ethiopia.
The Metropolitan of Axum gave the Cardinal, on behalf of the Patriarch, a pectoral cross.
