Archbishop Elpidophoros of America had a meeting with the American Ambassador to Greece, George Tsunis.
As the American Ambassador noted in a tweet, “It was a great honor to welcome His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America to our Embassy in Athens and reaffirm our shared commitment to human rights, religious freedom and dignity for all.”
For his part, Archbishop Elpidophoros, in a post on social media, said that “American Ambassador George Tsunis, a son of our Church and a friend, turned a courtesy visit at the American Embassy into a long heartfelt meeting.
I prize his partnership on a range of issues, including the welfare of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.”
