In these days illuminated by the joy of Christ’s Resurrection, and by the pleasure of finding Orthodox Christians in communion and solidarity through the reliable support of people severely affected by the current pandemic, Patriarch Daniel thanks the hierarchs, priests, deacons and believers of the Romanian Orthodox Church who responded to the call to help those in need.
The Romanian Patriarchate encourages the servants of the holy altars to continue the charitable actions dedicated to those affected by the pandemic and to continue to offer help at the level of parishes and dioceses, especially to the elderly and the poor, the sick or disabled, those temporarily isolated or quarantined.

Through the direct involvement of the diocesan centres, deaneries, parishes and monasteries of the Romanian Orthodox Church, between April 13 and April 17, 2020, financial and material assistance was provided in the amount of another 2,799,600 lei (578,656 Euro).
The result of the real help offered so far at the level of the entire Patriarchate, amounted to 12,598,078 lei (2,603,731 Euro), reflects the sensitivity, realism and generosity of the Romanian Orthodox Christians, clergy and laity, who together form the Romanian Orthodox Church.
We pray to the risen Christ to overcome the current pandemic as soon as possible.
