Much needed maintenance and restoration works are underway at the Church of St Nektarios in Dianella, WA.
The maintenance works are being conducted under the guidance and direction of Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea.
Work to fix extensive water damage in the front part of the Church, including concrete spalling of the large front windows, has already been completed. Starting this week, a two-week renovation of the Narthex (entrance) of the church has begun, with the whole area to be rendered and repainted. Further waterproofing work and restoration of the church roof will continue in the future.
On behalf of Archbishop Makarios of Australia, Bishop Elpidios conveys deep and heartfelt appreciation to the many donors that have supported the restoration works to this point. In particular, Bishop Elpidios expressed his appreciation to the contractor managing the works, Colin Conti and Access Projects & Construction, who has demonstrated the highest level of professionalism in the manner with which the restoration work has been conducted.
