The Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament, Konstantinos Tasoulas, is currently on an official visit to Cyprus. The Speaker will be in Cyprus on September 11-13. In the context of this official visit, the Speaker will meet the political leaders and address the plenary of the House of Representatives.
Konstantinos Tasoulas visited the capital of Cyprus, Nicosia, following the invitation by his Cypriot counterpart, Dimitris Syllouris.
The Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament has already held a meeting with the President of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiadis.
On Thursday morning, September 12, Konstantinos Tasoulas, accompanied by the Ambassador of Greece to Cyprus, Ilias Fotopoulos, and his associates, went to the headquarters of the Holy Archdiocese of Cyprus. The Speaker held a meeting with Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus for half an hour. The two sides discussed issues of national, social and church concern while Konstantinos Tasoulas spoke of the continued interest of the Greek government to Cyprus and great respect for the Church of Cyprus and its contribution.
After the meeting, the Speaker will meet the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimitris Syllouris, who will host a luncheon in honour of his Greek counterpart.
The Greek Speaker will also meet the leaders and the representatives of the parliamentary parties as well as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Christodoulis. The Greek Speaker will visit and lay wreaths at the Makedonitissa Tomb, the Imprisoned Graves, the Sotiris Stavrianakos camp of Hellenic Force in Cyprus in Malounta.
On Friday, September 13, 2019, Konstantinos Tasoulas will address the plenary of the House of Representatives.
