The Holy Archdiocese of Australia announced the postponement of the pilgrimage trip, which was scheduled to take place during these days in Constantinople, Crete, and the Holy Land in Jerusalem, led by Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
The postponement of the Pilgrimage was deemed necessary for reasons of the safety of its participants, under the shadow of the recent war which prevails in Israel and the consequent bans on air travel, which have been decided by the competent state authorities.
With these considerations in mind, the undertaking of the pilgrimage is therefore postponed until the month of May of the following year, 2024.
Archbishop Makarios beseeches the God-Loving Bishops, the holy Clergy, and the Christ-loving people of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia to pray fervently for peace to prevail in the Holy Land as soon as possible.
