The Feast Day of the Nativity of Saint John was celebrated at the Holy Monastery of Perth, in Western Australia.
The celebrations began with the of the Hierarchical Vespers at the monastery’s katholikon on the eve of the feast, while on the feast day the Orthros and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy were celebrated, presided over by Bishop Elpidios of Kyanes.
In his sermon, the Bishop of Kyanes reminded the faithful that the message of the feast is that of faith and hope, and stressed the importance of keeping these two virtues strong, because what is impossible for man is possible for God.
When we feel that our difficulties and problems overwhelm us and we see no way out at all during our personal judgment, then always remember that it is God who will take us by the hand and lead us to safety.
It is he who will show us the way out and give us the solution, “the Bishop of Kyanes noted.
The Bishop also conveyed to all the faithful the blessing and love of Archbishop Makarios of Australia, while thanking Archimandrite Makarios, Abbot of the Holy Monastery of St. John, for his hospitality.
