Patriarch of Moscow expressed his belief that what had been happening lately within the Orthodox Church was no coincidence.
According to the Russian news agency Ria-Novosti, the Russian Patriarch during an annual forum said, “What has been happening to the Church of Greece is an attempt by some people, who take backroom decisions, to isolate Russia from Greece.”
Patriarch Kirill of Moscow continued the witch-hunting and insisted that “According to reliable information, everything that has been happening lately within the Orthodox Church is no coincidence. They want to achieve two things: one the one hand, to isolate Russia from Greece and on the other hand to isolate Greece from Russia.”
The Russian Patriarch further stated that the Patriarchate of Moscow was “The pillar of Orthodox Christian faith, and therefore it protects Orthodox tradition, culture, and the principles of Christian ethics.”
