Patriarch of Moscow expressed sorrow over deadly attack on Moscow concert hall

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia has offered prayers for those affected by the tragic events unfolding at the Crocus City Hall building.

Vladimir Legoyda, the head of the Synodal Department for Church’s Relations with Society and Mass Media, conveyed the Patriarch’s heartfelt condolences, expressing prayers for the safety and well-being of those whose lives are at risk due to the fire, as well as for the healing of the injured and the repose of the souls of the people who lost their lives.

In his message, the Patriarch of Moscow expressed profound sorrow over the tragic attack at Moscow’s Crocus City Hall, which resulted in the loss of at least 93 lives. “I am deeply shocked by the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall concert hall, which claimed many lives of peaceful people. The atrocity is shocking in its cynicism and cruelty. I express my sincere condolences to you and I grieve with you,” said the Patriarch.
Furthermore, the Patriarch urged the faithful not to lose faith but to remain steadfast in their courage, strength, and devotion to the Lord during this challenging time.

Please read here the message of condolences by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow:

To the relatives and friends of those killed and injured in the terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall concert hall

Dear brothers and sisters!

I am deeply shocked by the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall concert hall, which claimed many lives of peaceful people. The atrocity is shocking in its cynicism and cruelty. I express my sincere condolences to you and I grieve with you.

I am convinced that the law enforcement agencies and special services will do everything possible to successfully and as soon as possible to solve the audacious crime and bring to justice those responsible for its organisation and execution.

Being deeply concerned for all of you, I urge you not to lose faith, to keep courage, strength of spirit and to pray diligently to the Lord, Who is always near to those who suffer and grieve.

I bless the Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Ministry to provide all necessary pastoral assistance to the victims and families of the victims.

Merciful God may rest the souls of the dead, grant healing to the wounded and comfort all those affected by this terrible tragedy.

Condolences

+KIRILL, PATRIARCH OF MOSCOW AND ALL RUSSIA
