Those were the comments of the Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria, who attended the New Year’s cake cutting ceremony of one of Egypt’s most historic provincial associations, the Hellenic Scientific Association “Ptolemy I”.

The President of Hellenic Scientific Association “Ptolemy I” Lilika Thlivitou welcomed many diplomats at the Angeliki Panajiotatou Mansion, in the presence of the Greek Consul General Athanasios Kotsionis and the President of the Greek Community in Alexandria Edmund Kassimatis.
Chinese Consul General Zhao Liying, Russian Consul General Rachid Sadikov, Russian Consul Ivan Shabanov, Spanish Consul General Juan Lopez Vilaplana, Palestinian Consul General Hosam Dabbas, the representative of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Sara Serour, President of Alexandria Sporting Club Dr. Ahmad Warda and the Commissioner Grigorios for the Orthodox Armenian Church in Alexandria have been present.
Mrs Thlivitou spoke about the contribution of this historical association and the effort to bring together the three homelands: Greece, Cyprus and Egypt.
