Last Sunday, 19 February 2023, with the blessing of Archbishop Makarios of Australia, the Parish of Saint Haralambos in Templestowe, Melbourne, honored Nicholas Raftopoulos, who has been chanting for the past 33 years.
The Parish Priest, Father Elias Kentrotis, expressed his gratitude to the 93-year-old chanter, who continues to chant in all the church’s Divine Services. Raftopoulos is originally from Ithaca, Greece, and is the oldest active chanter in Australia.
The Parish Committee, the Philoptochos, and the other chanters wished Raftopoulos many blessed years.
