Metropolitans Chrysostomos of Messinia, Athinagoras of Ilion, Acharnes and Petroupolis, Prodromos of Rethymno and Avlopotamos, and Gerasimos of Petra and Herronissos paid a visit to the Consulate General of Greece in Sydney on Thursday, September 21.
The above Metropolitans were invited by the Holy Archdiocese of Australia to participate in the upcoming 12th Clergy-Laity Congress (September 24-27). Archbishop Makarios of Australia and Bishops Siluan of Sinope and Bartholomew of Charioupolis accompanied them to the Consulate General.
The Consul General of Greece, Ioannis Mallikourtis, and his associates welcomed the Metropolitans from Greece and informed them about the role and activities of the Consulate General, as well as about their excellent cooperation with the Holy Archdiocese of Australia. They all exchanged gifts at the end of the meeting.
