On Wednesday morning, May 22, 2024, Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden and All Scandinavia, accompanied by Archimandrite Bartholomew Iatridis, went to the Norra Kapellet Chapel of the Solna Cemetery, where he presided over the funeral service of the late Wolmar Holmström.
Wolmar Holmström was for several decades the editor of the magazine “ortodox kyrkotidning”, in which he published articles in Greek written by the late Archimandrite Fr. Eusebius Vittis during his priestly ministry in Scandinavia (1965-1980) under the title: “Every month – a letter for you”.
In his speech, the Metropolitan of Sweden emphasized his moral obligation to Wolmar Holmström as soon as he was informed of his passing to the Lord.
Two years ago, when Wolmar Holmström received the Metropolitan’s letter concerning the writing of his new study on the Venerable Father Eusebius, he was kind enough to send him the articles published in his journal, thus completing some of the incomplete ones and contributing to the recently published study.
Immediately after the funeral of Blessed Wolmar Holmström, Metropolitan Cleopas presented his new study on Father Eusebius to the relatives of the deceased, and on page 34 of the preface he made a special mention of the deceased, whose memory he wished to be eternal.
