On Saturday afternoon, February 17, 2024, Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden and All Scandinavia traveled by train to the city of Kalmar, Sweden, where he was received by the priestly couple, Protopresbyter Christos Letsios and Presvytera Despoina Letsios.
Then the Metropolitan had a meeting with the members of the Church Council of the Apostle Cleopas Parish of Kalmar, where he was informed about the progress of the work being carried out and congratulated them for their dedication.
Afterwards, Mr. and Mrs. Letsios hosted a dinner, during which the Metropolitan had the opportunity to express his own and the local Church’s praise for the obedience, willingness, and generally selfless offering of Fr. Christos. The Metropolitan wished Presvytera Despoina a happy 80th birthday, but also congratulated her for her wholehearted support of Fr. Christos and her goodwill in promoting the work of the parish, and presented her with a gift, again expressing the congratulations of himself and the entire Metropolis.
On Sunday morning, February 18, 2024, the Metropolitan officiated at the parish of Apostle Cleopas, where he spoke with great eloquence on the Gospel passage of Cananaia, praising Fr. Christos and his Presvytera for their presence and dedication.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Cleopas performed a Trisagion for the repose of the son of the priestly couple, John.
Afterwards, the Bishop and the community went to an adjoining hall where they exchanged greetings for the New Year.
At noon of the same day, the Metropolitan visited the home of Fr. Christos, where Presbytera Despoina served a meal, while in the afternoon, the Parish Priest and members of the Parish Council accompanied Metropolitan Cleopas to the railway station from where he departed.
