Today marks the 23rd anniversary since the ordination of Metropolitan Alexander of Nigeria to Bishop by the Blessed Patriarch Peter VII of Alexandria.
On his personal Facebook account Metropolitan of Nigeria said:
“On the completion today of 23 years of service as Βishop of the beautiful orthodox people of Nigeria, Benin and Togo I praise the name of the Lord for His mercies. I pray for the soul of late Patriarch Petros who ordained me. May God bless abundantly both those who stand by my side and those who choose to stand opposite to me.
To all my brothers and concelebrants I say a big thank you and a reminder “though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you” (Cor1 4:18). And a promise that I will continue to come to you “in love and a spirit of gentleness” (Cor1 4:21)”
