On Saturday, 2 March 2024, Metropolitan Athanasios of Ilia and Oleni, the Deputy Minister of Citizen Protection of Greece Mr. Andreas Nikolakopoulos, the Mayors of Ancient Olympia Mr. Aristides Panagiotopoulos, Mr. Efstathios Kannis of Pyrgos, and Mr. Ioannis Lentzas of Andravidas-Kyllini, as well as the President of the Hellenic-Italian Chamber Mr. Ioannis Tsamichas, who visited the headquarters of the Ecumenical Patriarchate together with their associates and had a meeting with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
At the meeting, in which Bishop Nikephoros of Amorion, Abbot of the Holy Patriarchal and Stavropegic Vlatadon Monastery in Thessaloniki and President of the Patriarchal Foundation for Patristic Studies (ΠΙΠΜ) was present, the further cooperation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate with the Municipalities of the Prefecture of Ilia and other bodies was discussed, in the context of joint educational and environmental programs and cultural activities.
Afterwards, the Ecumenical Patriarch had a short private meeting with the Deputy Minister, whom he congratulated on the recent assumption of the multi-responsible duties entrusted to him by the Prime Minister of Greece.
