On Saturday, February 24, 2024, at St. Nicholas Cathedral in Seoul, with the participation of Ukrainians and Koreans and in the presence of Dimitro Poromarengo, Ambassador of Ukraine to Seoul, a memorial service was held for the repose of the victims of Russia’s war against Ukraine and a special prayer was offered for the end of the war and the establishment of peace.
In his brief greeting, Metropolitan Ambrosios of Korea and Exarch of Japan, after conveying the paternal blessing of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, wished: “that this year’s black anniversary of Russia’s war against Ukraine be the last.
In other words, I wish and pray that this cursed war, which while it lasts only causes evil and misery to all, will finally come to an end.
Let us ask Christ, the Lord of Peace, to enlighten the minds and hearts of those who started the war and those who, out of sinful interests, maintain it, so that they may think rationally and cease their pro-war sinful behavior.
And let all of us who are far from the battlefields try by our peaceful conduct to contribute to the prevalence of peace within ourselves and around us, so that peace may prevail throughout the world.”
