Unable to gather in person for Holy Week, the heads of the Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America, joined together to send a message of solidarity.
The heads of the Canonical Orthodox Bishops sent their own message of support and solidarity to the faithful in a one-and-a-half minute video in order to lift up their spirits ahead of Holy Week and Easter.
Moreover, they address the faithful one after another; Archbishop Elpidophoros of the Greek Orthodox Church of America, Metropolitan Joseph of the Antiocian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America, Bishop Irinej of the Serbian Orthodox Church in North, Central and South America, Metropolitan Nicolae of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolia of the Americas, Bishop Saba of the Georgian Apostolic Orthodox Church in North America, Metropolitan Tikhon of the Orthodox Church in America.
The message is the following:
“Sisters and brothers, beloved families and children, as your spiritual fathers, we lead you in prayer with the words of the psalms be gracious to us lord for we are fatigued, heal us Lord for we are anxious. As we approach Holy Week we remember that our journey is also Christ’s journey. Our Lord also experienced isolation and despair. Let all fear give way to faith. Let every heavy heart, be lifted with hope. And let our loss become enlessen in love. So we invite you to pray with us, for one another and for the whole world. For our leaders and caregivers, for workers and those in hardship, for those suffering and those most at risk. And we urge you, we urge you all to remember that even in isolation we always remain one community, one Church, the beloved people of God.”
