The Orthodox Church commemorates today Venerable Theodora of Thessalonica.
Venerable Theodora was the epitome of purity and humility and distinguished herself in the city of Thessalonica. Theodora was living a virtuous life from a very young age.
Her faith in Saviour Jesus Christ showed her the right way and, therefore, she decided to follow a solitary life in which she was studying the Divine Word and was educating herself.
She was selling her handiwork and giving the money to the ones in need. She was living along with her sisters in a monastery. She was following a path of placidity, humility, and patience.
She was an example for everybody in the Church as well as for her fellow human beings because she was honest, genuine, and eager to forgive others.
Tradition has it that years after the saint’s blessed repose when the Bishop with the nuns of the sisterhood and many believers opened her tomb to find the holy relics of Saint Theodora, they witnessed that her body was protected from the ravages of the time.
